Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the United States. Angela Evelyn is an American actress. Bassett was raised by her aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Born and raised in New York New York. Bassett moved with her sister to St. Petersburg Florida at five years old in order to be closer to their mother as she was divorced from her father. Bassett decided to be an actor after watching the stage play Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. Yale University New Haven Connecticut granted her a bachelor's degree (1980) which was in African American study, and a graduate degree (1983) in the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance was also an actor at Yale. The couple got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1981. Graduate of Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School.
